About this Poll
According to results, Democratic challenger Jason Carter is leading incumbent Nathan Deal by about 7 percent.
Carter is currently a Georgia State Senator. The 38-year-old recently called for a full investigation into allegations made by State Ethics Commission Director Holly LaBerge claiming the governor's office pressured her to make the ethics complaints against Deal's 2010 campaign go away.
Friday’s poll also shows that Democrats lead in the polls for the open Georgia U.S. Senate seat. Democratic nominee, Michelle Nunn, is leading recently elected Republican nominee David Perdue by about 3.3 percent.
