In addition to the regular county vote, the "Absent Railroad Vote" was 159 for McDonald, 20 for Lindsay, and 2 for Bearup. The 1917 Blue Book lists these votes by county but that table only lists 1 vote for Bearup, so clearly there is a disconnect there.
Washington Lindsay became Governor upon the death of Ezequiel de Baca on February 18, 1917. The office of Lieutenant Governor remained vacant for the rest of the term.
