About this Poll
Results of this edition of The West Virginia Poll® are based on interviews conducted between May 19 – 22, 2014, with a sample of 400 West Virginia residents age 18 and over.
For The West Virginia Poll, a multi-modal data collection method is used to collect responses including telephone and online interviews with respondents. The majority of interviews were conducted by telephone.

All reported margins of statistical error include the computed effects for weighting and sample design. In addition to these errors, question wording and practical difficulties in conducting surveys can introduce error or bias into the findings of public opinion polls. The overall margin of statistical error for this survey is +/- 4.9 percentage points at the 95% confidence interval.

Repass & Partners is responsible for questionnaire design, sample/respondent selection, data tabulation, statistical analysis, and reporting of results. Interviewing is conducted by the firm’s data collection partner, McMillion Research LLC. All data collection is conducted from the firm’s Charleston, West Virginia data collection facilities for telephone and online surveys. Repass & Partners is a member of the Council of American Survey Research Organizations (CASRO).
Data as reported has been statistically weighted based on multiple factors including US Census information for West Virginia and demographic turnout profiles from the 2012 general election.
