* = Incumbent Corzine and Christie in a tough battle By: Mark Warner 08 (I-AUT) - 2009-10-16 @ 01:25:29 Question: Poll Demographics About this Poll The latest New York Times poll of New Jersey is based on telephone interviews conducted Oct. 9 to 14 with 987 adults throughout the state. Of these, 867 said they were registered to vote. In addition, the questions about voting preferences in the 2009 elections were based on 475 “likely voters,” defined by registration, intention to vote, attention to the campaign, and past voting behavior. In theory, in 19 cases out of 20, the results based on such samples would differ by no more than 3 percentage points in either direction from what would have been obtained by seeking to interview all adult residents of New Jersey. For smaller subgroups, the potential sampling error is larger. For instance, the 475 “likely voters” have a sampling error of plus or minus 4 to 5 points. Shifts in results between polls over time also have a larger sampling error. Login to Post Comments Forum Thread for this Poll |
