This election was conducted using a form of Ranked Choice/Instant Runoff voting. This was used only for the election for US Senator; all other state elections were First-Past-the-Post. Voters were able to pick a first and second choice for United States Senator. No candidate received a majority of first choice votes and therefore the second choice votes were added to give the final results. The 1915 Blue Book lists the first choice votes only and also gets the totals for McGovern and Scattering wrong (the mistake for McGovern is in Forest County while a number of Scattering votes in various counties are also missed).
